Je hebt clowns waar je mee kunt lachen. En je hebt clowns die je een beetje bang maken. Toen ik gisterenavond over de schouwburgring liep, zag ik deze clown in de etalage. Ik schrok er van. En ik vind het niet zo slim, deze clown in de etalage. Want clowns staan even in een verkeerd daglicht. Er is sprake van coulrofobie, of anders gezegd: angst voor clowns en geschminkte mensen.

All the clown nonsense in the US started near me in Greenville SC. I'm not afraid of most clowns, but this one does look scary.
