Leijpark Tilburg Netherlands

Although the design dates from 1919, the park was only built from 1934-1939 as a job-creation project. This delay was caused by problems with the land purchase, which for a long time prevented a farm from fully realizing the design. The park is landscaped in English landscape style. Due to the presence of the Nieuwe Leij, there were initially many boggy pieces in the design area. Garden architect Leonard Springer had to make a modified design in old age because problems with the expropriation still persisted.
